"Almost 33 years later... had many rewarding experiences."

What do you like best about your position?

I enjoy the interaction with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and anyone who walks up to the desk for assistance. The helpdesk is a very visible service and provides assistance to all users in very rewarding.

What time do you arrive at work? What time do you leave work?

My day starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch. However, the desk is open evenings and weekends all year round so I can be found at the desk on alternating Wednesdays until 9:00 p.m. as well as three weekend shifts every semester... summers too!

Why did you choose Lehigh University as your employer of choice?

I was born and raised in South Bethlehem and Lehigh was practically in my backyard, so it was an obvious choice. Almost 33 years later I'm still here and have had many rewarding experiences.

What Lehigh University events and activities have you participated in beyond your department to become a more active member of the Lehigh community?

I have served on various committees such as the Employee Relations Advisory Committee (ERAC), the Holiday Party Committee, Tradition of Excellence Award Committee, the Recognition & Reward Committee, various library committees, and I volunteer for the United Way Day of Caring. I am also a member of the Lehigh University Wrestling Club. I believe exercise is essential in maintaining a health lifestyle so I try to participate in various activities sponsored by Human Resources and the Fitness Center.

What is your favorite location on campus and why?

Linderman Library, of course... what's there not to like! This library reopened in 2007 after a major renovation and is the crown jewel of campus. If you haven't seen the newly renovated library, you must add it to your to do list. The stained glass window in the rotunda area is beautiful. My first position was in this library almost 33 years ago, so Linderman will always be special to me. I also enjoy Grace Hall, also known as the "Snake Pit." I am a huge wrestling fan and the atmosphere at Grace Hall is the best. The Leeman-Turner Arena, named after two legendary coaches, allows fans to be right next to the mat, although there are no bad seats in this place.

What do you like best about working for an academic institution?

I enjoy the diversity and the opportunity to work with people of all ages, professions, and cultures. Plus the relaxed atmostphere that Lehigh offers.
