"...an Academic Institution is a very exciting place to work."

What do you like best about your position?

My position oversees and directs a variety of activities in a fairly fast-paced environment, which makes it quite interesting and challenging. My position also affords me the opportunity to interact with students, which I enjoy, as well as with many dedicated and caring staff members who help make work a pleasure.

What time do you arrive at work? What time do you leave work?

I typically arrive in my office between 7:25 and 7:40 a.m. and usually leave by about 5:45 or 6:00 p.m.

Why did you choose Lehigh University as your employer of choice?

Many years ago as I was looking to advance my career in the field of student housing, I applied to Lehigh knowing it was an excellent institution. I am originally from the Lehigh Valley, so when I got hired it became a career step along with a homecoming. It has been nice to stay at Lehigh all these years and be in close proximity to my family.

What Lehigh University events and activities have you participated in beyond your department to become a more active member of the Lehigh community?

Most of my activities have been within my department but I have served on the Employee Relations Advisory Committee (ERAC), the Finance and Administration Professional Development Committee, and various other committees over the years.

What is your favorite location on campus and why?

My favorite location on campus is Rathbone Dining Hall because the food is good, the staff is always friendly and pleasant, and the view is spectacular - all of this adds up to a great place to have lunch.

What do you like best about working for an academic institution?

I guess I would say the collegial, team-oriented atmosphere that exists on a college campus everyone works together so well and that makes work enjoyable. Also the chance to interact with students who help keep you feeling young as well as the variety of activities offered on a college campus sports, speakers, etc.  All of this makes an academic institution a very exciting place to work.
