What do you like best about your position?
Besides the compensation, I like to build things. I enjoy metal cutting and writing codes for the CNC machines in the lab.
What time do you arrive at work? What time do you leave work?
I arrive at work at 7:00 a.m. and I am scheduled for a seven and a half hour day with one hour for lunch.
Why did you choose Lehigh University as your employer of choice?
I chose Lehigh for the convenience, the timing of the job, and the benefits.
What Lehigh University events and activities have you participated in beyond your department to become a more active member of the Lehigh community?
One year I coached the hammer throwers (a track and field throwing event team) and recently participated in a blood drive on campus. On the 100th anniversary of the most excellent No. 1 Packard automobile, I helped out at the celebration and enjoyed the festivities in Warren, Ohio.
What is your favorite location on campus and why?
My favorite location on campus is Packard Lab. The 80 year old building has a heritage from the men who designed it. Some of its early residents (Tom Jackson and John Karakash) passed on a portion of the heritage to us.
What do you like best about working for an academic institution?
The students have a lot of ideas and energy. Working with them is challenging and revitalizing.
