Faculty members are employees whose primary job assignment is instruction at the collegiate level.
Individuals who hold faculty rank but are currently performing work that is primarily administrative are considered Exempt Staff Members for benefit purposes.
Full time equivalence is determined contractually for faculty appointments.
Tenure Track Faculty – Those faculty members who have been granted tenure or are eligible for consideration for tenure
- Full Benefits: At least 75 percent of a full time equivalent schedule
- Partial Benefits: Less than 75 percent of a full time equivalent schedule
Non-Tenure Track Faculty - Lecturers or Professors of Practice
- Full Benefits: At least 75 percent of a full time equivalent schedule
- Partial Benefits: Less than 75 percent of a full time equivalent schedule
Visiting Faculty – Appointed to temporary teaching assignments and working at least 75 percent of a full time schedule
Adjunct Faculty – Appointed to temporary teaching assignments and working less than 75 percent of a full time schedule
