The Appreciation Allocation previously communicated about will be paid in the May 28, 2021 payroll. If you wish to contribute all or a portion of the allocation to your TIAA account, you must complete one of the following actions no later than May 16, 2021:
If you are paid MONTHLY:
- Log in to TIAA at www.tiaa.org/lehigh
- Click on “Actions,” then under Retirement Plans, select “Manage Contributions”
- Select “Contribute to Your Retirement Plan”
- Select “Manage My Contributions” and then “Manage Contributions” once more on the next page
- Choose which option you wish to contribute (a percentage or flat dollar amount)
- Then select “First Available Paycheck” which will be the May 28, 2021 pay date
- Be sure to complete this no later than May 16, 2021. That is the final date for payroll changes for May.
- Select Next and review your changes
- Click “Confirm” on the final page after reviewing the Terms and Conditions
If you are paid SEMI-MONTHLY:
- Log in to TIAA at www.tiaa.org/lehigh
- Click on “Actions,” then under Retirement Plans, select “Manage Contributions”
- Select “Contribute to Your Retirement Plan”
- Select “Manage My Contributions” and then “Manage Contributions” once more on the next page
- Choose which option you wish to contribute (a percentage or flat dollar amount)
- Then select “Future Date” and enter May 28, 2021
- Do NOT select First Available Paycheck. Based on the timing of your entry, that may put the change through for the May 15 payroll cycle instead.
- Be sure to complete this no later than May 16, 2021. That is the final date for payroll changes for the second half of May.
- Select Next and review your changes
- Click “Confirm” on the final page after reviewing the Terms and Conditions
Important Reminders!
The IRS limits the amount an employee can contribute to a retirement plan within a given tax year. If you are adding some or all of this allocation to your employee retirement contributions and have questions about how it accumulates toward your maximum limit we would encourage you to visit the TIAA website or phone a TIAA representative at 800-842-2252 for assistance. More information on retirement contribution limits can be found here.
Regardless of if you are paid monthly or semi-monthly, you will need to log back into your TIAA account after the May 28, 2021 pay date to change your contribution back to what it was. Otherwise, the change you requested for the May 28 pay date will continue thereafter.
- If you are paid MONTHLY: change your contribution back prior to June 17, 2021.
- If you are paid SEMI-MONTHLY: change your contribution back no later than June 2, 2021.
