The following information was sent in an email on July 15 to staff, faculty and graduate students.
This email provides follow-up information to the memo sent July 10 and clarifies the process for gaining reactivation of your card access to campus buildings. At this time:
All buildings are locked and only accessible to those who have specific card access.
Directors and Deans (or their designees) will be asked to complete a safety plan by August 3 and submit it to the Dean’s or Vice President’s office as appropriate. If you have already submitted a plan and had it approved, you do not need to do another.
All staff, faculty and graduate students who need to come to campus should do so only with their Supervisor, Department Chair or PI’s approval and in accordance with the safety plan.
If you deem it necessary to come to campus before a safety plan has been submitted for your area, please coordinate with your Supervisor, Department Chair or PI, and abide by all guidelines provided in the Return to Work Safety Training.
Your card access will be reactivated within 48 hours of successful completion of all steps of the Return to Work Safety Training. No other action will be necessary on your part. Access will be restored to the same locations you had access to prior to March 20, 2020.
While we are still discouraging any unnecessary visits to campus, we are encouraging all faculty, staff and graduate students to complete the required Return to Work Safety Training. This includes essential employees who have not been under the work-from-home mandate. If you have already completed the training, you do not have to do so again.
This process will supersede all previous processes for restoring card access to campus.
Thank you for your commitment to keeping the Lehigh community safe and healthy,
Chris Halladay, Co-Chair
Vice President for Human Resources
Brent Stringfellow, AIA, Co-Chair
Vice President for Facilities
