Christine, Director of Administration, Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity

Kim, Executive Secretary, Office of the Vice Provost for Research

After 25 years in various roles at colleges in student affairs and advising, Kim experienced what she called "a shift." She realized she wanted to work in a different area of higher education, to see another vantage point. She says Lehigh was fully supportive of her desire to move from student advising to an administrative role.

Today, as an executive secretary, Kim supports the goals and mission of the Office of Research. And she loves it. "I would have never imagined where I would have ended up when applying here to where I am now. And it’s been a beautiful thing, it’s been a beautiful ride. I’m excited to see where this is going to take me."

Stacey, Assistant Director, LTS Client Services

Stacey and her team are there for Lehigh's students, faculty and staff in their time of greatest need, whether they have a twenty page paper due or they can't get into their email account. Running the Library and Technology Services Help Desk is a big job. Stacey says her crew view each other as friends as well as colleagues and have built a supportive culture.

Jim, Director of Technology Infrastructure

Jim leads the teams in Library and Technology Services that keep all of Lehigh’s communications, systems, and data infrastructure running. Whether you need a new phone, wireless access to the internet or server space for massive amounts of information, Jim’s team keeps your world humming. When Jim left the software industry for Lehigh, he never looked back. “In the corporate world I came from, it was hard to see the impact of what I was doing,” he said. “Here, you just have to walk outside and you get why you’re here. It’s the students. It’s so clear why you’re here, to support them. I feel like I’m contributing to society.”

Elias, Assistant Director of Information Systems, Development & Alumni Relations

When co-workers learned that Elias had to lie motionless in a hospital bed for weeks at a time as he awaited his heart transplant, they trekked to Philadelphia to keep him company and bring him distractions to pass the time. “It's an hour and 15 minutes away so they really had to make an effort to come see me and I appreciate that,” he said. “It was great to see people and feel normal.”

“I got endless cards from people who couldn't make the trip. I got boxes of cards and nice cheer baskets sent to the hospital,” he recalled.

Roman, HVAC Technician, Facilities Services

Not long after joining Lehigh, Roman was crowned the best electrician in America at the IDEAL Elite Tradesmen National Championships.  "Some may think electrical is the same thing over and over again, but it's not. There are always differences even if you’re doing the same task. No two houses are wired exactly the same, our older buildings at Lehigh have structural challenges. I’m never bored. I could do this day and night."
