Important 1095-C Information for Tax Year 2024

Notice to All Full-Time Employees: 1095-C Forms Distribution Change

In compliance with the recent Paperwork Burden Reduction Act (PBRA) passed by Congress, there have been important changes to the distribution of 1095-C forms. Please take note of the following updates regarding the availability of your 1095-C form for the 2024 tax year.

 

2021 Guidance on IRS Notice 2021-15 for Flex Benefit Plans

 

The IRS recently issued Notice 2021-15 in an effort to clarify the application of Section 214 of the Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2020, recently enacted as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act. This notice also relaxes some of the requirements pertaining to benefits plans such as Lehigh’s which are known as Section 125 cafeteria plans, specifically with regard to making mid-year changes to benefit elections.

Flu and Shingles Vaccine Benefits for Lehigh Medical Plan Participants

 

Influenza (flu) was associated with more than 35.5 million illnesses, more than 16.5 million medical visits, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths during the 2018-2019 influenza season.

 

Flu season usually ends in April. So even if you haven’t gotten sick yet, you’re not out of the woods. A vaccine is still your best defense. It’s not too late to protect yourself and your dependents.

 

Capital Blue Virtual Care

Capital Blue Cross Virtual Care is a telehealth service offered to all Lehigh University employees enrolled in the University's medical plan. 

Medical Benefits For Retirees

Medical Premium Reimbursement Plan (MPRP)
Lehigh provides eligible retirees with a premium reimbursement for medical insurance they purchase for themselves and/or their dependents. The MPRP reimbursement amount is $119.50  per person per month during fiscal year 2024-25. The reimbursement amount will increase to $122.35 per person per month effective July 1, 2025 and is valid for the fiscal year 2025-26.

Medical Insurance

Each Lehigh employee has different needs. That’s why the university offers eligible employees four medical benefit options. Each plan includes behavioral (mental) health benefits.

Prescription Drug Coverage

Each of Lehigh's medical plans includes prescription drug coverage through Express Scripts Health Solutions.

Vision Care

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The control code for Lehigh's DavisVision benefit has changed. The new control code is 5167.

The Davis Vision program is part of each medical plan offered by Lehigh. When you elect medical insurance coverage, you are automatically enrolled in Davis Vision as well.

Prescription Drug Coverage

Each of Lehigh’s medical plans includes prescription drug coverage through Express Scripts, Inc. 

  • The prescription drug plan covers medications that require a prescription by either state or federal law and that are prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Insulin, insulin syringes, and needles are covered by prescription only.
